Yangon: Coolest City in the World? - Episode 2

Yangon city, Burma/Myanmar - August 9-20, 2015 - Yangon is still something of a secret in its own way. Responsible tourism only! In fact, words can not describe this fascinating place.

Barbed-wire blockades are always at the ready in case of unrest.

Shan noodle soup at a great place to eat that is becoming to well known! If you go to Yangon, find it yourself!

All this moss... I like it.

A building burning downtown. No casualties. I was unable to find out which building it was, but found another picture of it here: http://news.yahoo.com/photos/lbb80145-yangon-myanmar-16-08-2015-fire-fighters-photo-132058021.html

A man watches the fire from his rooftop.

Cold sagging with a fat stack.

Yangon: Coolest City in the World? - Episode 1

Yangon city, Myanmar/Burma - August 9-20, 2015 - This is one of the most highly recommended cities I have ever been too.

A hounds sits afront the Immigration at the Mae Sot-Myawaddy border.

Myawaddy.

Some kind of ceremony with lots of percussion was occurring as we crossed the border.

Nuns.

The old circular train.

The main station.

Do not kiss on the train.

Kachin style fish. Less the $3 US. Food in Yangon is nothing short of phenomenal.

Wass dem hounds be doin dere?

"We chillin', yo. What about it?"

What are you looking at, master hound, sir?

Gauntlet - Episode 5: Bagan

Bagan province, Myanmar - July 10-12, 2014 - Bagan is perhaps what Siem Reap was like twenty years ago, but with horsecarts. I did not care much for the town itself, it was already a tourist area. It is bizarre walking in from the dust into a gourmet Italian restaurant. The place was thronging as it was a Buddhist event.

Burmese coconut curry. Nothing else like it.

The ingenuity of Burmese bottle openers.

Over 3000 ruins are clustered in the area of Bagan.

Wax sits on an altar before the image of Buddha.

Can you see the animal? And can you tell me what it is?

Betel nut spatter.

The Irrawaddy River.

I don't really recommend the Winner Duest House.

Mt. Popa

Food used to....

....protect you from these vicious bastards.

The town around Mt. Popa has many monasteries.

A temple glows on a hilltop at night.
